Alumni Association Members Receive Arts Discounts
Members of the Highlander Alumni Association can look forward to some great entertainment in the coming year along with a little extra cash in their pockets.
The Highlander Alumni Association recently announced that its members can receive a 50% discount on tickets to the Oct. 2 Bosque River Stage concert by guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel. Emmanuel returns to the BRS after two sold-out concerts in 2005 and 2006. Even those who haven't previously heard of Emmanuel owe it to themselves to see this internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated artist.
Regular ticket price for the 8 p.m. concert is $20, but alumni association members pay only $10. Tickets go on sale Sept. 2. Call the MCC Box Office from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at 254-299-8200 or e-mail at boxoffice@mclennan.edu to reserve your tickets. Discounted alumni tickets are subject to membership verification; one discounted ticket per member. Association members can also receive a 20% discount on season tickets for the 2008-2009 McLennan Theatre season. Regular season tickets are $50, but alumni association members pay only $40 for all four shows. The recently announced schedule includes:
· New Voices, New Beats: A Festival of the Now, Oct. 3-4 and 10-11
· Romeo and Juliet, Nov. 20-22
· Cabaret, Feb. 19-21 and 26-28*
· A Streetcar Named Desire, April 23-25
*The Saturday, Feb. 28 performance of Cabaret is the MCC Foundation Gala performance. Tickets for this performance are not included in regular season ticket packages.
