Book Scholarships Available for Part-time MCC Students

Part-time students at McLennan Community College may now apply for scholarships to pay up to $500 for books per semester. Applications for the program, which is the only source of scholarship funds for part-time students at the college, are due by March 1.

Students must meet the following criteria for the scholarship: be a part-time student enrolled in a minimum of six and a maximum of 11 credit hours at MCC, be enrolled in a degree or certificate program, have a grade point average of at least 2.5 and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship recipients will be required to attend a financial literacy class before the funds will be credited to their account at the MCC bookstore.

Applications for the book scholarships for the summer 1 and 2 semesters are available at www.mclennan.edu/departments/foundation/schol.html; hard copies of the application must be turned in to the MCC Financial Aid Office by 6 p.m. on March 1.
